The Doubletree Cariari by Hilton was designed as Costa Rica’s first luxury hotel. Built in the 1970s, it has recently undergone a complete renovation. The original design, with its typical roof tiles, flooring and use of precious woods, inspired by local, mid-Twentieth Century Costa Rican architecture, has been preserved.
