Our Costa Rica Highlights Family Vacation package offers families looking for unique resorts exposure to some of the top regions in Costa Rica, combining rainforests, volcanoes, beaches, and wildlife. Exotic Manuel Antonio, with its bustling wildlife and wide range of activities, is the first stop. Next, visit the Arenal Volcano region, featuring one of Latin America’s most active volcanoes. Enjoy extreme or moderate nature adventures then return to your hotel and relax in the hot springs (not included in economy version). The Costa Rica Highlights Vacation package ends at a top Guanacaste Beach Resort, for days in the sun and surf. Pricing for this package is based on a family of 4 including at least one child 11 or under, sharing one room.
Day 1: Arrive at the San Jose International Airport. After clearing customs and immigration, meet your driver as you exit the airport. Board the van for the 2½ hour drive to Manuel Antonio. This beautiful ride takes you west of the Central Valley to the town of Atenas. Traverse the southern mountains towards Orotina, home to some of the country’s top fruit producers. Continue towards the beaches of the Central Pacific, passing Herradura, Jaco, Hermosa, Esterillos, and Parrita, en route to Quepos, a fishing town near Manuel Antonio. Check into your hotel.
Day 2: After an early breakfast, you will be picked up in the hotel lobby for a private visit to the renowned Manuel Antonio National Park. Spot three species of monkeys, sloths, iguanas, coatimundis, and a wide range of birds and reptiles. After the tour, stay and relax on the pristine beaches of the park or return to the hotel. Overnight in your Manuel Antonio Hotel.
Days 3 and 4: Relax or take advantage of the many activities available in the magnificent Manuel Antonio region: (These optional activities are not included.)
Boats with experienced crews can be reserved in Quepos, home to some of the world’s best sport fishing.
Go kayaking in the warm waters of the Pacific Ocean.
Sail on a 37-foot Catamaran past jagged rock formations and towering cliffs, the nesting grounds to countless marine birds. Search for spotted dolphins, giant sea turtles and migrating humpback whales. Then stop in a jungle cove to swim, snorkel and enjoy lunch or dinner.
Travel by boat through pristine mangroves guided by experts. Expect close encounters with white-faced monkeys, sloths and numerous bird species.
Go horseback riding through the Pacific Lowland Rainforest Reserves to a spectacular waterfall and enjoy a refreshing swim in the pristine lagoon.
Spend a half or full day white water rafting Costa Rica’s most picturesque rivers, the Naranjo (Class II / III) or the more challenging Savegre (Class III / IV).
Day 5: Enjoy a leisurely breakfast and morning at the resort. At a time TBD, the driver will pick you up for the private 4 and 1/2 hour transfer to the Arenal Volcano Region. Check into your hotel. Spend the afternoon and evening enjoying the hot springs and gardens (hot springs not included in the economy version).
Days 6 and 7: Explore the Arenal Volcano region. (Optional activities are not included.)
At the Fortuna River Waterfalls, see magnificent waterfalls cascade into the rainforest then hike and swim in the river.
The Sarapiqui River provides Class III and IV rafting for adventure aficionados and Floating Safari Class II rafting for slower paced, nature lovers. Both tours feature amazing scenery and thrilling adventure.

Take the Hanging Bridges Tour — an impressive hike in the rainforest over a series of suspension bridges.

Day 8: After breakfast, your driver will pick you up for the 4 hour private transfer to the Tamarindo Beach Region. You will travel around Lake Arenal and through the Guanacaste Savanah en route to Costa Rica's premier beach destination. Check into your hotel.
Days 9 and 10: Enjoy the beach and the hotel. Optional activities in the Tamarindo Region include:
Visit Rincón de la Vieja National Park, offering challenging hikes, relaxing mud baths and hot springs, and tours on horseback.
